Below are five of my favorite sources of content. These authors span the gap of venture capital, SaaS, marketing, tech, and entrepreneurship and the intersection of them all as well. With so much content available, I have found these to be the blogs I read most consistently.
- Brad Feld – www.feld.com
Brad is a world class venture capitalist with the Foundry Group in Boulder, CO. He has been an early stage investor and entrepreneur since 1987, and also co-founded Techstars. Brad weaves his personal style and interests into his blog, but predominantly focuses on the themes and overlap of venture capital, software, technology, and entrepreneurship.
- David Cummings – www.davidcummings.org
David co-founded marketing automation company, Pardot, in 2007, which he sold to ExactTarget in 2012. Since then, he has become the figurehead of the Atlanta tech community, and founded the Atlanta Tech Village. David writes short, digestible posts every day focused on tactical advice for entrepreneurs, such as marketing strategy, SaaS benchmarks, economics of venture capital, goal setting / strategic planning, company culture, and employee alignment.
- Jason Lemkin – www.SaaStr.com
Nicknamed the “Godfather of SaaS,” Jason Lemkin is a VC, 2X founder, and SaaS enthusiast. His event – SaaStr Annual – is one of the most widely attended SaaS events in the world. Jason’s content is geared toward all things SaaS (surprise!) and founders – trends in SaaS, company leadership, SaaS benchmarks, talent development, and sales and marketing.
- Jay Baer – www.convinceandconvert.com
Jay is the founder of Convince & Convert, a strategy consulting firm that helps prominent companies gain and keep more customers through the smart intersection of technology, social media, and customer service. He is also an active investor and technology advisor. Jay is a marketing guru and as a result most of his content is tied to marketing and sales, social media, content marketing, digital marketing, and customer service.
- Tomasz Tunguz – www.tomtunguz.com
Tom is a VC at Redpoint Partners and he writes daily, data-driven blog posts about key questions facing startups including how to fundraise, startup benchmarks, management best practices and team building. He is seen as an industry thought leader for his exceptional SaaS and venture insights.
